There’s an interesting article on NY Times cityroom blog about the recent arrest of Robert A. Lederman, president of Artists’ Response to Illegal State Tactics. It seems that the High-line doesn’t want artist vendors around, even though it may violate artists’ first amendment rights.

I have talked to a city planner who thinks the High-Line is under-utilizing its resources and should have been open to street vendors. By his estimates, the novelty of the landmark will wear off and people will not come there so much so the investment into the project was not a good investment.
